The Night Before Surgery
Tomorrow is the big day. By tomorrow night I will be pain free of torn meniscus and only handling superficial pain from surgery. I am so mixed with feelings and I don't know why. On one hand I am grateful that I can have this surgery at this time when medical technology is so apt and recovery will be a breeze; and yet, I am so fearful of what may go wrong while I am under anesthesia. I believe my age has much to do with these conflicted feelings. If I was thirty years younger, I would have less life experience and therefore fewer ideas to imagine in what could go wrong. On the other hand, I am an elder and therefore wise. I expect myself to think wisely, knowing the surgery is minor and the outcome will be stupendous.
After all, I will be able to run...I love to run. I haven't ran in over a year and my weight gain is evidence of that. I will be able to cross my legs, walk steps without wincing, dance while listening to my iPod, and a boatload of other stuff (lucky Bob!!) Hi Bob! [sip] (that one is for Beth at Nutwood Junction-go ask her about it).
I am believing what I feel tonight is normal, but I don't like the feeling. So there, I've said it! I don't like green eggs and ham!! Agh! Ok, ok...It's off my chest.
Now I can go watch the Phillies slaughter the Dodgers and go to the World Series. Go Phillies!!

I hope that your surgery is successful tomorrow. Technology has advanced to much that your surgery is now considered routine, no matter the age. I am confident that in a day or two, we will have an entry that says, I can not believe I was even worried about this :o)
good luck tomm!!! hugs
Karen, I hope you can get some rest tonight without worry over the surgery. You are in my thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery.
Hugs

Saying a quick prayers that everything goes well.
Hugs, Joyce
You are in my prayers sweetie. I just had this same surgery in July. You will be happy that you did it. In a while you will get back to running and that is what counts!
Karen, I don't blame you for being anxious, but I'm confident that all will be well. If you're feeling less than confident, let all of us give you a boost by sending you good vibes! You're going to be just fine, my dear.
Oh...and Hi Bob! (sip) ;)
Hugs, Beth
I would imagine you are home by now recuperating from your surgery and that everything went well; I understand the feelings you had though prior to surgery
WTG to the Phillies; I'm a bit sad the Dodgers let it go, but the better team did win!
