Fibromyalgia

This has not been a good day for me. In truth, my fibromyalgia (http://www.fmaware.org/site/PageServer?pagename=fibromyalgia ) is raging. The pain feels like acid running through the muscles, and the stiffness feels like rigamortous. I know, from life experience, that the weather is the blame. It is bitter cold today, but for the past weeks it has been raw. The combination is lethal...well, not that extreme except for when it affects those around me. I am miserable and I show it. I don't want to, but it's too hard to be "upbeat and happy" when the pain is so severe. I barely have the strength or fortitude to rise up out of a chair let alone rise up for those around me. I wish people would be more compassionate about this condition that doesn't show itself except through facial expressions. My face shows the misery and sometimes the look is misread. I am hoping that those I have offended today can find it in their hearts to forgive.

I have a coworker whose wife has this condition. It got to the point that the meds did not help. She went to Mayo, and found that the meds were exacerbating the condition. She went of the meds and is doing much better.

I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Hi Karen. I do hope you are feeling much better this morning. I never realized how many people have this until I started reading j's & blogs. I'm not too sure what it is but it sure does sound painful. Hope you can find something that helps :)......

One of my sisters has fibro, and I know how bad it can be. I hope this pain passes soon.

Hi,
Came here via Alice. Congrats on the award she gave us both.

Just want you to know that I too, have Fibromyaglia, but clearly not as badly as you. It WAS, and can flare up at times. And I completely agree about people not understanding. It's getting there though.
Feel better,
Nancy

I have Fibro myself but as I have aged, and this is true, it seems to have became more manageable. I hope yours will do the same.
